From A Certain Point of View, the anthology of short stories making up the newest member of the Star Wars canon, hits release October 2, but with its offer of a Boba Fett narrated story comes one of my greatest fears as a Mandalorian fan: it’ll finally say in no uncertain terms that the Fetts aren’t Mandalorian.

This dread is one I’ve become well-acquainted with.


Reasons for reccing: The mandalorians are one of my favorite cultures portrayed in the Star Wars mythos, but I fell in love with them through their portrayal in the Legends and now the new EU has greatly changed their lore and I have mixed feelings on that matter. This essay does a brilliant job of illustrating mine and many other fans issues and concerns regarding the decanonization of the Fett’s mandalorian heritage in a very poignant and informative way.
