Reasons for reccing: This vid has some of the most phenomenal video editing I have ever seen in fandom. The way the creator transitions the scenes and matches the edits to the musical beat is utterly phenomenal.

Creator's Summary: A totally self indulgent fanart piece because I’ve been obsessed with the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie. Featuring Kylo Ren, Finn and Rey’s respective props.

Reasons for reccing: The Force Awakens sets up this idea of the past and the trauma it inflicts on the future generations and that theme carries through to varying degrees throughout the sequel trilogy. And I think the way the past affects the future can best be seen in these three characters with Kylo holding onto Vader’s helmet, Finn being a stormtrooper, and Rey carrying around an old Rebel pilot helmet. This is a really great piece that highlights that theme and how it carries through with these three characters.

Reasons for reccing: A really wonderful comic that explores mental health is a very well thought out way. Ben’s mental demons are illustrated beautifully and sinisterly and Han comes across as a very gruff and caring father with the best intentions, even if he offers poor advice. The dynamic is very reminiscent of the real-world experience a lot of young people have with their parents regarding mental health.

Title: “Try for Some Remorse” A Look At Palpatine’s Role In Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Creator's Summary: It has been said by many, including the creator: George Lucas that Star Wars is a children’s story. Star Wars largely encompasses themes of forgiveness, redemption, compassion, and hope. Dave Filoni himself has stated that “There’s a redemption for most characters– if not all characters– in Star Wars films and there’s an arc and a path to when they let go and stop being selfish.” This is an important read to have on the Star Wars franchise when going into “The Rise of Skywalker” because we can assume that Kylo Ren, the wayward son of Han and Leia, is on a path towards redemption. He and Rey are set to right the wrongs of the generations that came before them. My personal read of the story makes me think that we will get a happy ending where Ben Solo comes back to the light and his family. I believe he will be forgiven and given a chance at his new life, a life that Anakin was never able to live. So where does Palpatine’s ending fall in all of this?

Reasons for reccing: This is an absolutely brilliant meta that analyzes what Palptaine's role and defeat will be like in The Rise of Skywalker and how it will lead to a satisfying and complete conclusion to the Skywalker Saga. It highlights the core theme of Star Wars which is compassion and how compassion will play into Palpatine's defeat.

Creator's Summary: Recently I went on quite the binge of Williams' music, and I was so absorbed and enthusiastic about it that I decided to make my own piece set in the Star Wars world, using some of the same themes and in general just referencing Williams' work.

I didn't try to make this piece in Williams' style, but rather tried to borrow some elements from his technique in terms of instrumentation and melodic development. I wanted to infuse a bit of the spirit of Williams' music into this, but still have it clearly be my own composition.

Reasons for reccing: An absolutely mesmerizing piece that fits nicely alongside the rest of the music of the Star Wars universe. It really captures the militaristic darkness of the First Order, it’s like a descendant of the “Imperial March.” And while John Williams’ influence is abundantly obvious, the style still has a very original flare to it.
