Creator's Summary: A short mental health comic with Han and Ben Solo. Han Solo, master of repression, passes his questionable coping strategies onto his son. What comes from the best of loving intentions may be tragic consequences.

Reasons for reccing: A really wonderful comic that explores mental health is a very well thought out way. Ben’s mental demons are illustrated beautifully and sinisterly and Han comes across as a very gruff and caring father with the best intentions, even if he offers poor advice. The dynamic is very reminiscent of the real-world experience a lot of young people have with their parents regarding mental health.

Creator's Summary: The dynamic between Han Solo and Ben is so interesting on so many levels, one of which being that it brings up questions about the role of father as protector. One of Han Solo’s major failings, which leads to terrible narrative consequences, is that he does not adequately protect his son.

Though Han loves his child, he fails at protecting Ben; this is because Han fights battles in the physical realm while Ben is vulnerable on the psychic battlefield. Ben is born in a psychic war zone in which dark forces in addition to Snoke (his Force sensitivity opening him up to dark forces of death, violence, and hate throughout the galaxy) battle for his mind.

Reasons for reccing: A really haunting art piece that perfectly captures Han’s failings as a protector and the struggle that Ben went through a child. Ben clings to Han, but no matter how much he holds on his father can’t protect him from Snoke and the Dark Side’s influence so Han loses Ben, before he even realizes what is happening.
